Foreclosed Homes Fraudulently Listed on Craigslist For Rent, Renters Lose Big Money

LAS VEGAS -- Con artists continue to rent out foreclosed homes they have no business renting because they don't own the home. People are falling for the scam on Craigslist and losing their money.
The con artist trying to rent out a bank-owned home met the would-be tenant in the parking lot of a home improvement store, that should have been a red flag.
Now signs are posted here warning the home is not for rent. Realtor Heidi Watt checks on her bank-owned property that is for sale in North Las Vegas.
"This is a really nice house. You can see it has wood floors." Watt said.
However, criminals also have their eye on this home too.
An agent recently discovered the for sale sign was gone from the front yard and the lockboxes cut off.
"I said, 'oh my gosh, here we go again.'" Watt said.
A woman last month tried to move into a house, but police stopped her. Her first month's rent and security deposit are gone, taken by fraudsters.
"They're advertising it on Craigslist as a deal that is almost too good to be true," Watt said.
In March, 8 News NOW had the story about Watts' other listings that were essentially hijacked by fraudsters on Craigslist.
A man, who moved into a North Las Vegas home from California, had to vacate. But the people who signed a sham lease to move into this home in Desert Shores have refused to leave.
They are living rent-free. Watt gets the power cut off, they turn it back on. The bank is in the process of evicting them.
"Ultimately, the police really can't do anything because it is not up to them to determine is a lease is valid or is it not valid. That is a civil matter," Watt said.

Man on TV dating show reveals killing first wife, lover

A 62-year-old man looking for a wife on a TV dating show stunned the host and studio audience by revealing that he had murdered his first wife and later killed a lover with an ax during an argument.
Sefer Calinak casually mentioned his complicated history with women while appearing this week on Flash TV's The Luck of The Draw, the Turkish newspaper Hurriyet Daily News tweeted Thursday.
He was quick to add, however, that he is now an "honest person looking for a new wife."
Calinak said he had eloped with his first wife, who was also his cousin, when they both were 17, after the girl's family tried to force her to marry a widower. He said things changed after they lived with his family for five months.
"Her behavior changed. The nephew of the man who wanted to marry her started to come to our village. I was jealous and I killed her, in a way," Çalınak said, according to the newspaper.
Calinak said he was freed from prison in an amnesty after serving more than four years on a 13-year prison term.
After remarrying, he separated from his second wife, with whom he had two children, the newspaper says.
He then began an affair with a married woman, Coquette, who reneged on a promise to divorce her husband for him.
The couple got in an argument, and he was defending himself with an ax while standing behind a door.
"I killed her after she tried to kill me," he said. "She was accidentally killed when I swung the ax."

Woman has neighbors' home bulldozed

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (AP) — Authorities say a northeast Florida woman who didn't like her neighbors had their mobile home demolished.
According to an arrest report, Ana Maria Moreta Folch of St. Augustine told a heavy equipment operator that she owned the trailer and wanted it and its septic tank destroyed.
The Florida Times-Union (http://bit.ly/1mJ33qa ) reports that St. Johns County Sheriff's deputies were called when the trailer's real owner arrived Monday and found the demolition underway.
The arrest report says Moreta Folch wanted the trailer bulldozed because she thought its occupants were unsavory and she suspected they had broken into her car.

Teen Charged With Raping Numerous Girls Since He Was 12

FLORENCE, Ariz. (AP) — A prosecutor announced an indictment Thursday against an 18-year-old Arizona student charged with sexually assaulting about a dozen girls over nearly five years.
Charges against Tyler Kost of San Tan Valley include multiple counts of sexual assault with a minor, sexual abuse with a minor and sexual conduct with a minor. He also faces one count of child molestation.
Pinal County Attorney Lando Voyles said the victims in the crimes alleged in the indictment issued Wednesday ranged from 12 to 17 years old.
Voyles said the offenses occurred between October 2009 and April 2014.
Kost was born in January 1996 so he was 13 when the first offense allegedly occurred. But Voyles plans to try him as an adult on all charges.

Cannibal Re-Arrested After 3 Yr Old Boy's Head Found

A man previously arrested for digging up bodies and eating them was arrested again after authorities in Pakistan said they found the head of a young child in his home.
The BBC reports that convicted cannibal Mohammad Arif Ali was taken into custody on Monday morning after police in Darya Khan, Pakistan, raided his home following reports of a bad smell emanating from the residence.
"We found the severed head of a young child, about 2 or 3 years old," Ameer Abdullah Khan, superintendent of police in Darya Khan, said. "They probably dug up his body from a grave, but the identity of the child and the graveyard from where his body might have been stolen is not clear."

Bride Shoots Niece to Death Over Who Would Be Designated Wedding Driver

NEW BRIGHTON, Pa. (AP) — A Pennsylvania bride fatally shot her niece with her new husband's handgun during an argument over who would be the designated driver after their wedding party, police said.
Police said 30-year-old Christina George-Harvan, of Conway, shot 21-year-old Katelyn "Kaytee" Francis of Fairmont, W.Va., around 10 p.m. in the parking lot of a bar in in New Brighton, about 30 miles north of Pittsburgh.
Their wedding was held earlier in the day.
"We believe all three were arguing over who was going to be the designated driver," New Brighton Police Chief Charles Vanfossan told TV station WTAE.

Satan Worshippers Continue Fight to Erect Satanic Baphoment Statue in Oklahoma's Capitol

For the Rolling Stones in the late 1960s, Satan was “a man of wealth and taste,” as he introduced himself in the iconic classic rock hit “Sympathy for the Devil.”
An organization called the Satanic Temple aims to summon another image of the devil for Oklahoma — a state currently embroiled in a battle with civil liberties advocates over a monument to the Ten Commandments on the state Capitol lawn. Some say such a symbol excludes Americans who don’t identify with Judaism or Christianity.
Photos provided by the Satanic Temple unveiled the group’s monument, which it wants placed on Oklahoma’s Capitol lawn in the name of fairness. It features Baphomet — a creature with the head of a ram and body of a man — accompanied by two gleeful-looking children.
The group plans to have the finished product cast in bronze, Satanic Temple spokesman Lucien Greaves told Al Jazeera.
That’s the image that the organization — which has used various publicity stunts to oppose what it calls Judeo-Christian dominance of U.S. government and society — wants to place on the grounds of the Oklahoma State Legislature.
Oklahoma’s Capitol Preservation Commission has prevented the Satanic Temple from erecting its monument while litigation by the local chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union is pending against the Ten Commandments monument. Various state legislators did not comment about the matter to Al Jazeera.

Teen Girl Gives Birth to Newborn Boy, Then Kills Him By Leaving Him in Olastic Bag on Side of Road

Ana Rosa Mora, age 18, is facing a first-degree murder charge for killing her newborn baby. She woke up last week, gave birth to a healthy baby boy, and then she proceeded to tie the newborn up in a plastic bag and dump him on the side of the street. She then went back to bed. A few hours later a construction worker found the bag and called the authorities but at that point it was too late. The baby had died from asphyxiation and possibly exposure to the chilly Chicago weather.
Mora tried to deceive those who knew she was pregnant. She took an image of a baby girl from the internet and sent it to some people stating that she had given birth. She had been asking around the school if it was legal for the authorities to do a DNA test on people to try and find out who the mother of the dead baby found by her building was.

Oregon Waste Company Processes Aborted Fetuses - Used to Fuel Homes?

Biomedical waste, such as fetal tissue, cancerous tissue and amputated limbs sent to Oregon incinerator.

An Oregon county commission has ordered an incinerator to stop accepting boxed medical waste to generate electricity after learning the waste it has been burning may include tissue from aborted fetuses from British Columbia.

Sam Brentano, chairman of the Marion County board of commissioners, said late Wednesday the board is taking immediate action to prohibit human tissue from future deliveries at the plant that has been turning waste into energy since 1987.

"We provide an important service to the people of this state and it would be a travesty if this program is jeopardized due to this finding," he said in a statement.

"We thought our ordinance excluded this type of material at the waste-to-energy facility. We will take immediate action to ensure a process is developed to prohibit human tissue from future deliveries."
The two commissioners on the board told CBC News they have called an emergency meeting for 9 a.m. PT Thursday to deal with the issue and they might rewrite an ordinance to clarify what type of material can be accepted.
Both said their Christian beliefs would not allow them to support the continued incineration of fetal tissue at the plant.

Kristy Anderson, a British Columbia Health Ministry spokeswoman, told The Associated Press that regional health authorities there have a contract with a company that sends biomedical waste, such as fetal tissue, cancerous tissue and amputated limbs, to Oregon, where it's incinerated in the waste-energy plant.

Obama's Remote Controlled Killing Machines Massacre Women and Children

A nation that pretends to be a God-fearing nation should at least keep up appearances a lot better. Killing women and children using the tired, outdated cover of "national security" and "targeted killings" is anathema to Christianity. Human Rights Watch has documented international law violations committed by Obama and his puppet masters that the U.S. Citizen should be very alarmed by!

When United States President Barack Obama made a major speech last May on US lethal airstrikes against alleged terrorists, he said one aim was to “facilitate transparency and debate” about their use. Observers would be hard pressed, however, to find commitment to either transparency or debate in the obstructive US response to a draft resolution on targeted killings that is expected to be approved by the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva.

The draft resolution urges states to “ensure transparency” on remotely piloted aircraft known as drones, which have become Washington’s preferred weapon for targeted killings. It urges “prompt, independent and impartial investigations whenever there are indications of any violation to human rights” caused by armed drone operations. It instructs the council to convene an expert panel on drone strikes.

The resolution is not perfect. For one thing, it focuses narrowly on drones rather than on targeted killings as a whole. But it would send an important signal that no government—including the US—can shroud deadly drone strikes in an unreasonable level of secrecy. The US has carried out at least 400 drone strikes since Obama took office, reportedly killing upwards of 2,600 people, according to independent research groups. Obama has referred to claims of significant unlawful civilian casualties as “outlandish”. But his administration will not confirm any casualty figures, much less individual strikes or the number of its targeted killing operations.

Human Rights Watch has serious concerns that some if not many US targeted killings may violate international law and Obama’s own policies including his assertion that the US strikes only when it has “near-certainty” that no civilians will be harmed. In examinations of seven US targeted killing operations by drones and other weapons systems since 2009 in Yemen that had killed and wounded civilians, we found clear violations of international humanitarian law—the laws of war—in two attacks.

One unlawful attack killed 14 alleged militants but also 42 sleeping Bedouins, two-thirds of them women and children. The other killed 12 civilians–eight farmers, a mother and three children—coming home from market. We found potential laws-of-war violations in the other five attacks including a strike on cars in a wedding procession that killed 12 men, wounded 15 others and slightly injured the bride.

Former Girls Basketball Coach Guilty of Heinously Molesting Wife's Nieces

A Queens Supreme Court judge broke down and cried — and said he had never presided over a more troubling case — as he sentenced Kerbet (Kirby) Dixon to at least 25 1/3 years in prison for sexually abusing two young members of his family in his Queens home in 2008 and 2009.
Judge Richard L. Buchter was reduced to tears as he scolded Dixon while reading the sentence, pausing at one point to dab his soggy eyes.
“In 27 years on the bench, I have not seen a more repulsive case,” the judge said, his voice rising. “Justice is a poor replacement. . . . The lengthy prison sentence I propose will not restore the sweet innocence of the child.”
Dixon, 50, a former Queens court officer and assistant girls basketball coach at Manhattan’s Murry Bergtraum High School, was convicted in March on felony charges of sexually abusing two of his wife’s nieces, who were 10 and 14 at the time, and more than 480 counts of possession of child pornography.
Buchter was not swayed by defense attorney Richard Mischel’s argument that Dixon was well-regarded as a father, foster parent and court officer for more than 20 years.
In fact, the judge said he based his strong sentence on Dixon’s status as a law enforcement officer at Civil Court in Jamaica as well as the severity of the crimes.

Former Japanese Mayor Says Japan Hiding Truth About Widspread Fukushima Deaths

Katsutaka Idogawa, former mayor of Futaba, a town near the disabled Fukushima nuclear plant, is warning his country that radiation contamination is affecting Japan’s greatest treasure – its children.
Asked about government plans to relocate the people of Fatuba to the city of Iwaki, inside the Fukushima prefecture, Idogawa criticized the move as a “violation of human rights.”
Compared with Chernobyl, radiation levels around Fukushima “are four times higher,” he told RT’s Sophie Shevardnadze, adding that “it’s too early for people to come back to Fukushima prefecture.”
“It is by no means safe, no matter what the government says.”
Idogawa alleges that the government has started programs to return people to their towns despite the danger of radiation.
“Fukushima Prefecture has launched the Come Home campaign. In many cases, evacuees are forced to return. [the former mayor produced a map of Fukushima Prefecture that showed that air contamination decreased a little, but soil contamination remains the same.]"

South Sudan Rebels Massacres Hundreds for Oil Money?

Hundreds of civilians were killed in a mosque and a hospital while hiding from a rebel onslaught on the city of Bentiu, says the UN.
Fighting broke out in the oil-rich state last December, with the Sudan People's Liberation Army (SPLA) rebels, who mostly represent the minority Nuer tribe, striving to capture the oil distribution centers to starve the Dinka tribe-led government of money. On Tuesday last week, the SPLA entered Bentiu, which has been reduced to ruins, for the third time during the conflict.
“Opposition forces entered the Kali-Ballee mosque where civilians had taken shelter, separated individuals of certain nationalities and ethnic groups and escorted them to safety, while the others were killed. More than 200 civilians were reportedly killed and over 400 wounded at the mosque,” said a statement from United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS).
While most of the victims were Dinka or foreign traders from the city’s market, even some Nuer weren’t spared.
“At Bentiu Hospital, on April 15, several Nuer men, women and children were killed for hiding and declining to join other Nuers who had gone out to cheer the SPLA opposition forces as they entered the town,” said UNMISS.
